Jasmine Ferrario

Jasmine Ferrario is Senior Researcher and Lecturer of Ecology at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Pavia, Italy. She holds a PhD in Experimental Ecology from the University of Pavia, investigating the role of recreational boating in spreading non-native species in the Mediterranean Sea. Her research focuses on marine bioinvasions, working primarily on fouling communities by conducting regular monitoring, as well as manipulative experiments and citizen science activities. She has extensive experience in the taxonomic identification of macrozoobenthic organisms in fouling communities, with a particular interest for bryozoans.

Within the INVASIONS project, Jasmine is participating with Prof. Agnese Marchini from the University of Pavia as cooperating partner, giving assistance within the WP3 “Fieldwork activities and sample processing”.

She has authored 37 peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of the ICES-Working Group on Marine Bioinvasions (WGBIOINV) and serves as associate editor for the journals Biological Invasions and BioInvasions Records.
