Agnese Marchini

Agnese Marchini is a full Professor of Ecology at the Department of Earth and Environmental Science of the University of Pavia, Italy, where she has hold responsibilities in teaching coordination, communication and internationalization. Tutor or co-tutor of over 50 bachelor or master theses in Biology or Natural Sciences at the Universities of Pavia and Ghent, Belgium (under the IMBRSea Program); tutor or co-tutor of 10 PhD theses at Universities of Pavia, Toulon (France), Sorbonne Paris (France), and Basque Country (Spain). Her research concerns aquatic ecology and biogeography, with focus on benthic invertebrates, especially peracarid crustaceans, anthropogenic disturbance, socio-ecological interactions.

Within the INVASIONS project, Agnese will assist the Ionian University team in the sampling design, will provide guidance on the taxonomic identification of non-indigenous species, especially peracarid crustaceans, participate in meetings and dissemination events, and contribute to scientific publications of the project. She will also contribute to the supervision of the PhD thesis of an early-career team member: Ioannis Rallis.
