Ioannis Rallis

Ioannis Rallis is a marine biologist and data manager with a scientific focus on non-indigenous marine species and marine biodiversity data management. He is a PhD candidate at the Department of Environment of the Ionian University. He collaborates with the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. Over the last six years, he has participated in more than 15 national and European research projects, contributing to project management, scientific diving and field sampling, documentation and publication of biodiversity data according to FAIR principles, and risk assessment related to non-indigenous species.

Within the INVASIONS project, Ioannis contributes to field sampling, sample processing, data analysis and biodiversity data management. His activities include the organization and FAIR-compliant documentation of project data, support for NIS monitoring and risk-assessment activities, and participation in dissemination activities and scientific publications. These activities form part of his PhD research and support the project across the fields of marine biological monitoring, NIS assessment and biodiversity data management.
