In June 2026, the official website of the INVASIONS research project became publicly available, creating a dedicated digital hub for communication, outreach and access to project information. The visual design, technical development and integration of the website content were carried out by Technomedia. The platform is available in both English and Greek, supporting communication with scientific, institutional and wider public audiences.

The website introduces visitors to the project’s scope and to the challenges associated with marine non-indigenous species in hotspot areas of the Ionian Sea. Its current sections - Home, About, Background, Objectives, Research Team, News and Contact - provide a structured overview of the scientific rationale, planned activities and people involved in INVASIONS.

The News section will be regularly updated with progress from field surveys, deployment and retrieval of monitoring collectors, laboratory and molecular analyses, scientific meetings, collaborations and dissemination activities. In this way, the website will serve not only as a presentation page, but also as a continuously updated record of project implementation.

As the project progresses, the website will be expanded with dedicated material on project results, scientific publications, datasets and other data products, monitoring methods and protocols, a species identification guide, and public project deliverables. These resources will support access to the knowledge and tools produced by INVASIONS and encourage their use by researchers, environmental authorities, port and marina managers, stakeholders and interested citizens.

The launch of the website represents an important step in the project’s communication and dissemination strategy, providing a single, accessible point through which visitors can follow INVASIONS and its contribution to the early detection and monitoring of marine non-indigenous species in the Greek Ionian Sea.
